#WHOOPITAUGHTME celebrates the power of self-expression through footwear. Inspired by Whoopi Goldberg's bold and authentic style, I explored the power of shoes and put into the eyesight of the viewer footwear to position the idea of putting ourselves in others shoes. This was during a bout of deep depression, I felt a revitalizing connection and felt joy upon learning the journey Whoopi experienced, and many other humans in this experience we call live.
Through the diverse subjects of musicians, kids, prisoners, and friends, the paintings showcase the unique journeys and personalities of each individual, emphasizing the importance of self-expression in our lives. #WHOOPITAUGHTME invites us to embrace our true selves, celebrate our individuality, and walk our own paths with style and respect for others.
This exhibit is a testament to the enduring power of creativity and self-expression, and a celebration of the diversity and beauty of the human experience.
